pH and ORP measurements with one tester!
The HI981204 is a water-resistant ORP and temperature meter, while the HI981214 measures pH, ORP and temperature. The housing of these testers is completely sealed from moisture and is designed to float. These testers are designed to determine pH and chlorine (via redox) in pool water or other non-industrial applications.
The stainless steel temperature probes on these models provide faster and more accurate temperature readings. When the cloth junction becomes clogged and slows down the response time, simply pull it out 3 mm to clear the clog.
- Floating, water-resistant housing
- Hanna Instruments' exclusive replaceable cartridge pH and ORP electrode
- Electrode replacement with the stainless steel connector means that there are no pins that can bend or break during replacement.
- pH electrode with cloth function (HI981214)
- Two-part LCD display
- Automatic temperature compensation (HI981214)
- Automatic calibration (HI981214)
- Battery status (in %) at startup and stability indicator
- Automatic shutdown

Unfortunately, it is not possible to use a standard Redox (ORP) tester in salt water because that ORP electrode features a platinum ORP electrode. This platinum ORP electrode will indicate negative mV values (or close to zero) if too much salt (more than 1 g/l) is present in the water.
