Effective operation with filter media
The sand filter pump keeps your pool water constantly moving, giving algae, bacteria and fungi virtually no chance to develop. The water of your pool is completely circulated in about 4 hours. The pump propels the water through a filter vessel that should be filled with sand or glass. These filter media are significantly more effective than filter cartridges because they capture fine particles better. This keeps your swimming water fresher, cleaner and clearer.
Filter medium: sand or glass
The filter vessel of the Intex sand filter pump must be filled with filter sand or glass, which is not supplied as standard. Filter sand is traditionally the most commonly used media, is the most cost-effective and needs to be replaced about every 5 years. Filter glass is slightly more effective, but also more expensive. However, you need less of it and it only needs to be replaced after 10 to 15 years. There is also a third option for filter media, which is Aqualoon.
Required amount of filter sand: 35 kg
Required amount of filter glass: 25 kg
Safe and convenient operation with built-in timer
This sand filter pump can be operated via a timer. This allows you to easily leave the pump on for a preset part of the day, for example 8 hours, during which the pump pumps the pool water through the filter vessel. This happens automatically between the set times. The pump comes with an inverter to 12 volts, which is safe for use in pools. As standard, the pump is equipped with a protected RCD plug that automatically shuts off if the voltage is too high. Once the pump is connected to your pool, all you have to do is plug it in, set the timer, and the Intex sand filter pump does the rest.
Easy to place and install
The sand filter pump should always be placed below the water level, this can easily be done along the pool or in a technical/garden house. The two hoses supplied as standard have a length of 440 cm. Try to keep this maximum distance. (Additional hoses can be ordered, but keep in mind that too long a distance may affect the pump capacity). The standard connection is 38 mm, but check to be sure that this is also the connection of your pool. With the included handy hose clamps and fittings, you can seamlessly connect the hoses to the inlets and outlets of the Intex sand filter pump and pool. The included manual tells you exactly how to do this.
Do you have a pool with a 32 mm connection? Then don't forget to order an Intex connection kit (for 32 mm pools) with it. If you happen to still have the connection parts from an older 32 mm filter pump, you only need 2 Intex connectors.
