Kindling Cracker Original Wood Cutter with Hammer
With the Kindling Cracker you only need a hammer to beat the wood through the splitter. Both are blunt tools which is safe for your fingers. The Kindling Cracker was invented in New Zealand and consists of a solid piece of high-quality cast iron made in an Australian foundry. A quality tool that your children and grandchildren will still use to split their own kindling (with proper care and maintenance). There are specially drilled holes in the frame of the Kindling Cracker to attach it securely to a log. The only maintenance the Kindling Cracker needs is a little brushing and perhaps a lick of paint from time to time. However, it is recommended to store the Kindling Cracker in a dry room or under a Kindling Cracker protective cover after use.
The PROMAT mallet/fist hammer is ideal for splitting kindling with the Kindling Cracker. This mallet or fist is a hammer with a solid steel head into which a hickory handle is inserted. It can deliver solid blows. The handle is fixed immovably in the head for safety reasons. The hole (housing) in the middle of the head is therefore smaller on the side where the shaft is inserted than on the other side. The handle is made to fit precisely in this hole, inserted until it is flush with the other side and secured with one or more steel wedges.
