A solar cover is, in my view, one of the smartest additions to your pool. This rectangular cover from Bestway fits neatly over your above-ground pool of 400 x 200 cm (the actual cover size is 380 x 180 cm) and ensures your water stays warmer for longer and cleaner too. The air bubbles in the cover capture sunlight during the day and pass that warmth on to the water, while at night they prevent the warmth from escaping.
The blue film not only looks neat on your patio, but also helps you save substantially on heating costs because you need to top up the heat less often.
Built to last season after season
What sets this cover apart is the quality of the material. The cover is made from sturdy microfibre with a thickness of 80 microns. That may sound technical, but you notice the difference immediately: a thicker film is more robust, tears less easily and holds its shape better than the thinner varieties you sometimes come across. That 80 micron thickness in particular means you won't have to replace this cover after just one summer.
The microfibre is also resistant to constant contact with chlorine and sun-treated water, so the air bubbles retain their insulating effect for a long time. With a bit of care, a solar cover like this will last several seasons.
Preventing wear with simple maintenance
To get as much enjoyment from it as possible, I recommend not leaving the cover in bright sunlight for long periods when there's no water underneath it - the combination of heat and dryness is hardest on the film. Rinse it clean every now and then and roll it up in a shaded spot when you take the pool down. This keeps the bubbles intact and preserves the cover's insulating power.

This cover is unhemmed and has no eyelets; it is simply laid loosely over the water. Please note that the cover size (380 x 180 cm) is deliberately somewhat smaller than your pool, so the film rests neatly on the water surface without hanging over the edge. Ideal, therefore, for a rectangular above-ground pool of 400 x 200 cm.
