A bottom drain may not be the most visible part of your pool, but it is an essential part of a well-thought-out circulation system. This Aquareva bottom drain in a sleek anthracite grey colour ensures that the water also keeps moving at the bottom of your pool, so that dirt is neatly carried away instead of settling on the bottom.
Thanks to the high-quality ABS plastic and the discreet, dark colour, this drain blends in nicely with the bottom of your pool. It has deliberately been kept extra low, so you won't trip over it and it virtually disappears into the whole.
When you use it
A bottom drain is installed during the construction or renovation of your pool, when the bottom and pipework are still accessible. It forms the basis of your underwater circulation: the water drawn away at the surface through your skimmer is replenished at the bottom via this drain. This gives you an even flow from top to bottom and prevents dead spots where dirt accumulates.
Connecting to your pipework
The drain has both a side outlet and a bottom outlet, giving you a lot of freedom in positioning it. If your pipe runs under the bottom, you use the bottom outlet; if the pipe comes from the side, you simply connect to the side outlet. Both outlets easily accommodate a 50 mm or 63 mm pipe, making it suitable for the most common Dutch installations.
Why this version
The ABS material withstands permanent contact with water and chlorine and remains sturdy for years. The anthracite grey colour is ideal if you have a dark or grey pool liner or coating: the drain then hardly stands out.
