Aquaforte DM-6500 LV (12 volt) pond pump
Are you looking for a powerful yet safe pump for your pond? Then the Aquaforte DM-6500 LV is an excellent choice. This pump runs on 12 volts instead of the usual 230 volts, making it ideally suited for locations where safe low voltage is required. With a capacity of 6,500 litres per hour and a consumption of just 50 watts, it combines strong performance with low energy use.
The pump comes with a 10-metre-long cable, so you can easily connect it to the accompanying transformer, even if it is positioned further away from the pond.
What can you use this pump for?
The DM-6500 LV is a true all-rounder. You can use it to pump your pond water through a filter, to feed an attractive waterfall or to bring a bubbling stream to life. With a maximum head height of 4 metres, you have enough reserve to lift the water to a higher-positioned filter or waterfall point as well. Do bear in mind that output decreases the higher you pump: at 1 metre of head height, you get approximately 4,600 litres per hour, and at 2 metres, around 2,800 litres per hour.
Positioning: in or outside the pond
With this pump, you have complete freedom of choice. You can simply place it underwater in the pond, but it works just as well set up dry outside the pond, provided it remains below the water level. This way, you determine the setup that best suits your situation. The connection size is 1.25″, and thanks to the ability to pass debris particles up to 6 mm, the pump is not quick to clog.
Suitable for which pond?
The right pump choice depends on the type of pond. For a natural pond without fish, this pump is suitable for up to approximately 33 m³. If you have a fish pond, allow for a maximum of 20 m³, and for a koi pond — where water quality is especially important — we recommend it for up to around 13 m³. This way, you maintain sufficient circulation for clear, healthy water in every situation.
Safe and worry-free
Because the pump runs on 12 volts, you don't need to worry about high voltage in or around the water. In addition, the DM-6500 LV is equipped with dry-run protection: if the water level drops too far, the pump switches off, preventing damage. The capacity of this model is not adjustable, so you deliberately opt for a fixed, reliable flow. We provide a 2-year warranty on this pump.
