When should you replace your UV-C lamp?
UV-C lamps have an average lifespan of approximately one year. After that period, the lamp usually still lights up, but the strength of the UV radiation gradually decreases. As a result, bacteria, algae and pathogens are broken down less effectively. For optimal operation of your UV-C filter system, it is therefore recommended to replace the lamp annually.
Safe replacement
Please note: UV-C radiation is harmful to the eyes if you look directly into a lit lamp. Always switch off the power before replacing the lamp. Fortunately, most UV-C units are equipped with a safety switch that automatically cuts off the power as soon as the housing is opened.
