Pool vacuum connections

Vacuum connection – Efficiently vacuum your pool via the skimmer

A vacuum connection is an essential part when you want to clean your pool manually with a vacuum hose and pool brush. This connection allows you to connect the vacuum directly to the skimmer or suction line, so that dirt is effectively carried away to the filter system. With the right vacuum connection, you make the maintenance of your pool easier and prevent loss of suction power.

What is a vacuum connection?

A vacuum connection is an adapter or coupling piece that is placed in the skimmer. You connect the vacuum hose to this. Once the pump is running, the dirt is drawn in through the hose and filtered by the filter system. This system is especially popular for above-ground and in-ground pools without an automatic pool robot, but also as a supplement to a robot for hard-to-reach spots.

Why is the right connection important?

Not every skimmer or pipe has the same diameter. A properly fitting vacuum connection prevents air intake and ensures maximum suction power. An incorrect size can lead to reduced performance or even damage to the pump due to air in the system. That is why it is important to check which diameter and which type of connection is suitable for your pool system.

Suitable for various pools

Vacuum connections are available for various brands and models of pools, both for above-ground pools and for fixed in-ground pools. There are specific connection pieces for standard skimmers, but also universal models that fit multiple systems. When making your choice, pay attention to the hose connection, the diameter of the skimmer opening and the type of filter system.

Installation and use

Using a vacuum connection is simple. Place the adapter in the skimmer, connect the vacuum hose and make sure the hose is completely filled with water to prevent air bubbles. Then start the pump and begin vacuuming. Check the pump basket and filter regularly, as these can collect dirt more quickly while vacuuming.
