Retaining heat and reducing evaporation
The dark black/blue colour helps absorb extra heat during the day, while the cover acts like a blanket at night, keeping the built-up heat in. Just as useful: you lose much less water through evaporation. This reduces the need for topping up and keeps the water temperature more stable, especially in the early and late season.
Cleaner water, less work
