Description
OKU 2000 Max-Absorber solar collector – 200 x 100cm – universal connections
Do you want to use your pool for longer without high energy costs? The OKU Max Absorber makes that possible. This solar pool heater uses the sun's free heat to bring your pool water up to temperature – completely sustainable, without fuel and without extra electricity. With an absorbing surface of 2 m² and an efficiency of up to 85%, this is one of the most efficient and affordable ways to extend your swimming season.
Heating with solar energy: how it works
The principle is simple and effective. Your existing filter pump pumps the pool water through the black plastic absorber. The mat absorbs the sun's heat and transfers it directly to the water flowing past. The heated water flows back into the pool. With sufficient hours of sunshine, the water temperature rises by 1 to 3 degrees per day – depending on the size of your pool and the number of absorbers. This way, you can easily extend your swimming season by four to six weeks, both at the start and end of summer.
For optimal operation, it is recommended to size the absorbing surface at 50 to 80% of your pool's water surface area. For a pool measuring 8 x 4 m (32 m²), four to six absorbers of 2 x 1 m are therefore ideal.
Universal connections for every installation
The OKU Max Absorber is supplied with four fully closed connection points. Depending on your installation, you cut open the desired connections to size – the remaining openings simply stay closed. This makes the absorber extremely flexible: no extra blanking caps or sealing materials are needed. The absorber is suitable for two standard connection sizes:
- 4 x 25 mm – via hose set 25 x 3 x 63 mm
- 4 x 38 mm – via hose set 38 x 5 x 100 mm (Art. No. 2020)
The hose sets are available separately and ensure a simple, leak-free connection to the existing filter pipework.
Modular system: expand where and how you want
The OKU Max Absorber is designed as part of a fully modular system. You start with one absorber and simply expand as your needs or budget grow. The absorbers can be combined and positioned in several ways:
- Flat on the roof or the ground
- On its side or vertically against a wall or fence
- At an angle on a sloping roof or special support structure
- In rows next to or above each other, connected in series or in parallel
Thanks to its high flexibility, the system fits almost any available roof surface or free space around the pool. The included installation manual shows several example layouts with two, three or more absorbers.
Technical specifications
The OKU Max Absorber 2 x 1 metre has the following technical specifications:
- Dimensions: 2.00 x 1.00 m – absorbing surface: 2.00 m²
- Weight: approx. 11.6 kg (including 11.6 litres water content)
- Flow rate: 300 – 500 litres/hour (recommended)
- Pressure drop: only 0.005 bar at 400 l/hour
- Test pressure: 4.5 bar at normal temperature
- Maximum working pressure: 1.2 bar at 40°C
- Bursting pressure: > 12 bar – also resistant to negative pressure
- Efficiency: up to approx. 85%
- Maximum output: up to 1.7 kWh per absorber per hour
- Average daily output: 8 – 10 kWh per absorber per day
- Temperature resistance: -50°C to +115°C
Durable, frost-resistant and chemical-resistant
The OKU Max Absorber is manufactured in one piece from high-quality plastic that is fully resistant to chlorine, salt and other pool chemicals. The absorber is frost-resistant down to -50°C – antifreeze is never necessary. Even in summer, under extreme heat, the material retains its shape and function up to +115°C. The mat is also walkable, which greatly simplifies maintenance and installation on the roof. Manufactured in Germany according to strict quality standards.
Tip: combine with a solar controller
For optimal efficiency, you can combine the OKU Max Absorber with a differential temperature controller (such as the OKU Suncontrol). This automatically measures the temperature difference between the absorber and the pool water and only switches on the pump when heating makes sense. This way you prevent your pool from cooling down on cloudy days and get the maximum efficiency out of every sunny hour.
