Description
O-ring for filter lid Basic sand filter set
A small part that makes a big difference: the O-ring that fits precisely under the lid of your Basic sand filter. This rubber ring provides a watertight seal, so no water can seep out along the edge of the lid. Notice water leaking at the top of your filter? A worn or damaged O-ring is often the culprit, and with this spare part that's easily resolved.
When it's best to replace it
Rubber hardens and shrinks over time, especially when exposed year after year to water, chlorine and temperature fluctuations. We recommend replacing the O-ring as soon as you notice a leak at the lid, or preventively when opening your pool at the start of the season. Do you see small cracks, flat spots, or does the rubber feel stiff? Then it's time for a new one.
How to install it
First switch off your pump and let the pressure in the filter drop. Remove the lid, take the old O-ring out of the groove and clean the edge of dirt and limescale residue. Place the new O-ring neatly in the groove, put the lid back on and tighten it hand-tight. Then switch the pump on and check that everything stays dry. A job that takes just a few minutes.
Does this fit your filter?
This O-ring is made for the Basic sand filter set and fits the variants with a capacity of 4 m³/h, 6 m³/h and 8 m³/h. If you use one of these sets, this is exactly the spare part you need. Handy to keep one in stock, so you're never long without a working filter in case of a leak.
