Lower your pH value with pH minus. Adding disinfectants, such as chlorine, is only effective at too high a pH, but you need much more. So you notice a too high pH mainly in the amount of chlorine you have to add. And if this continues for a long time, you will also feel it in your wallet; you will have to buy more chlorine. Therefore, always ensure the pH value fluctuates between 7.0 and 7.6. A pH value of 7.4 is perfect. How much pH minus do you need? With about 80g per 10m³ of water you lower the pH value by 0.1.
