What exactly does “stabilized” mean?

These tablets contain a chlorine stabilizer (cyanuric acid). This protects the dissolved chlorine from the sun’s UV rays, which would otherwise break down the chlorine very quickly. The result: the chlorine remains active in your water longer, and you don’t have to replenish it as often. This is especially handy for outdoor pools that get a lot of sun.

What’s the best way to dose them?

The tablets dissolve slowly and evenly, ensuring a constant release of chlorine. Place them in the skimmer or use a dosing float or automatic dosing system. As a guideline, use about 10 tablets for every 30 to 35 m³ of water, every 5 to 8 days. The exact amount depends heavily on the water temperature and how intensively the pool is used, so it’s important to keep measuring.

How to Get the Best Results

Aim for a chlorine level between 1 and 2 ppm in stabilized water and between 0.5 and 2 ppm in unstabilized water. Equally important is the pH level: keep it between 7.2 and 7.6. When the pH is properly adjusted, the chlorine works optimally, and you avoid using more product than necessary. This keeps your water clear and free of algae and bacteria.

Handling Chlorine Safely

Chlorine tablets are powerful chemicals, so handle them with care. The product is harmful if swallowed, causes severe eye irritation, and may irritate the respiratory tract. In addition, it is highly toxic to aquatic organisms, even over the long term. Therefore, store the tablets in a dry place, out of the reach of children, and never mix them with other chemical products. Always follow the instructions on the packaging.
