Fix-A-Leak is the professional anti-leak agent that permanently seals small cracks, holes and leaking joints in pools and spas - without having to drain the water. The concentrated liquid circulates through your entire water and plumbing system, locates the leak and forms a hard, watertight seal on the spot. One 1-liter bottle is sufficient for pools up to 80,000 gallons of water.

Fix-A-Leak works on all common pool materials: concrete, fiberglass (polyester), vinyl and plaster. It is as effective in the pool itself as it is in the underlying plumbing, skimmer and return lines. For private pools as well as spas and hot tubs, Fix-A-Leak is the go-to solution for hard-to-reach or non-locatable leaks.

How does Fix-A-Leak work?

Fix-A-Leak works on a unique emulsion principle similar to the coagulation mechanism of blood. When you add the agent to the circulating water, it spreads throughout the entire system. Once the liquid reaches the leakage site, the microscopic particles contract and accumulate around the orifice. Layer by layer, they build up a compact, hard plug that permanently seals the hole.

The agent is capable of closing holes up to about 3 mm in diameter. Pools experiencing up to 2.5 cm of water loss per 24 hours can be successfully treated. After 24 to 48 hours of circulation, the leak is completely sealed in most cases. After that, the sealant should cure for another 48 hours before switching back to normal filtration.

An added benefit: Fix-A-Leak coats all surfaces it comes in contact with with a protective layer. This slows rust and corrosion formation in metal piping and pump components, extending the life of your system.

For which leaks is Fix-A-Leak suitable?

Fix-A-Leak is designed for small, slow leaks that are difficult to locate or reach. The agent is suitable for:

• Small cracks and holes (up to 3 mm) in the wall or bottom of the pool
• Hairline cracks in concrete, plaster or gelcoat of fiberglass pools
• Small holes and pinholes in vinyl pool liners
• Leaking joints and fittings in pipework
• Leaks at the skimmer, inlet grates and return nozzles
• Leaks in filter system housing
• Cracks and leaks in spas, hot tubs and jacuzzis

Fix-A-Leak is not suitable for large cracks or extensive damage in vinyl liners, and does not work on leaks located on the suction side of the pump. If in doubt about the severity of the damage, we recommend performing a leak test or seeking professional advice first.

Instructions for use: step by step

Correct application of Fix-A-Leak is critical to results. Follow the steps below carefully:

Step 1 - Mark the water level
Fill the pool or spa to the normal level and clearly mark the water line. This will allow you to accurately track water loss during treatment.

Step 2 - Adjust the filter
Fix-A-Leak must not pass through the filter media, or the agent will be filtered out before it can do its job. Set sand filters to the "recirculate" setting. For cartridge or DE filters: remove the filter element completely from the tank and circulate the water through the empty housing.

Step 3 - Add Fix-A-Leak
Shake the bottle well before use. Slowly pour the required amount into the skimmer or directly in front of another suction opening while the pump is operating. Be sure to add evenly, slowly so that the agent is well absorbed into the water.

Step 4 - Keep the agent moving
Fix-A-Leak is heavier than water and sinks to the bottom when stationary. It is essential to keep the agent in suspension. Stir the water manually every 4 to 6 hours with a pool brush, or circulate an automatic bottom cleaner continuously.

Step 5 - Monitor the water level
For 2-3 days, check the water level daily relative to the mark. In most cases, water loss is noticeably reduced after 24 hours and completely stopped after 48 hours.

Step 6 - Allow to cure
Once the leaking has stopped, let the sealant cure for another 48 hours. Only then switch the filtration back to normal mode and clean or replace the filter element if necessary.

More severe or multiple leaks may require a second treatment.
