Pool liners and pool liner: the basis of every waterproof pool construction
No pool is complete without a good pool liner. This flexible liner covers the inside of your pool and keeps the water neatly in place. It also protects your pool structure from wear and tear, discoloration and leaks. The result is a smooth, safe and low-maintenance finish that also increases swimming comfort.
At Pool.shop, you will find both standard pool liners and custom-made pool liners. Standard liners are perfect for steel walled pools and set-up pools with fixed dimensions. They are available in different heights, diameters and thicknesses. Installation is relatively easy and can be done without specialist knowledge.
For built-in pools or renovation projects, welded pool liner (also called reinforced liner) is the ideal choice. It is custom installed and tightly glued or welded to the pool walls and bottom. It is the most durable solution for those who want long-lasting, professional results.
Which liner do I need?
Choosing the right liner depends on the type of pool and how intensively it is used. For an above-ground pool or steel-wall pool, you usually choose a standard liner with an overhang or overlap profile. Important here are the right dimensions (such as Ø360 x 120 cm) and the thickness of the material. The thicker the liner, the better the abrasion and UV resistance.
Do you use your pool throughout the season or leave it permanently in place? Then a thicker liner of 0.6 mm or 0.8 mm is recommended. It keeps its shape better, feels more comfortable and lasts longer - even when exposed to sunlight, heat and chlorine.
For larger or in-ground pools, welded liner is usually the best solution. It is cut to size and professionally installed, providing a tight, seamless finish with maximum longevity.
Color and look of your pool liner
The color of your liner largely determines the appearance of your pool water. A light blue liner provides fresh, clear water with a summer look. Darker liners give the water a deeper, luxurious look. There are also liners with mosaic prints or textured liners, which add an extra visual dimension to your pool.
Note: dark liners can heat up the water a little faster, while lighter colors just help make discolorations less visible.
