Is your spa water cloudy despite a well-functioning filter system? Then a flocculant is the solution. It binds fine dirt particles together so they are more easily removed by the filter. So your spa water quickly becomes crystal clear again - and stays that way.
Even if your spa is perfectly disinfected, the water can sometimes still appear cloudy. The cause? Microscopic dirt particles that are too small to be captured by the filter. Think residue from body fat, dust, pollen or cosmetics. While these particles in themselves are not a major problem, they do cause the water to look hazy.
With a good flocculant you can solve this easily. The product sticks all those small floating particles together into larger flakes. These are then collected by the cartridge filter or sucked through the bottom of the spa. The result: clear, sparkling water that invites you to take a relaxing bath.
Flocculants are specially developed for use in spas and jacuzzis. They are usually available in liquid, tablet or gel form. Most varieties are added through the skimmer or directly into the water. The agent does its job within a few hours and makes even the finest dirt particles disappear from the water.
It is important that you always follow the dosage instructions on the packaging. An overdose can have the opposite effect and clog your filter. With regular use (e.g. weekly or after intensive use of the spa) your water will always remain beautifully clear, without extra effort.
Flocculant is no substitute for disinfection or pH correction, but it is a valuable addition. Especially when you notice that the water remains cloudy despite good basic values. In combination with a well-functioning filter system and regular testing of your water values, flocculant makes a visible difference in water quality.
For spas with a cartridge filter, the effect is particularly noticeable, because these filters often have trouble dealing with fine suspended particles. Thanks to the flocculation, these particles are more easily retained and your water stays cleaner longer.
