How does a side mount filter system work?

The side-mounted valve provides direct, efficient control of the water and allows quick switching between modes such as filtering, backwashing, rinsing, circulating or draining.

When rinsing (backwash), water flows from bottom to top, removing and discharging dirt from the sand. Thanks to the side valve, you always have good visibility and access during this process.
